Halloween 2011

It's the eye of the Tiger, it's the thrill of the fight
Yo, Adrienne!!!  Adrienne!!!
John Hall was modeling his costume at the club.  He won a Mr Potato Head for his age division.  (I love that Snoopy is on the screen behind him.  He LOVES Peanuts!  In fact, last night he actually asked us if we could start calling him "Peanut John" instead of John Hall)

Trick-or-Treating

John Hall hopes everyone had a very Happy Halloween!!!

Village Carnivals and Purple People Eaters

All the cousins got together to attend Halloween carnivals in the Village.  After they decided they'd had enough of trunk-or-treating, bouncy houses, lucky ducks, golf, fishing, along with lots of other games to play for prizes, we all headed back to Ose and Pa's for pizza and fun.  Who knew a "Purple People Eater" would be lurking in the woods...but thanks to some tricky landscaping, that monster was leveled by a tree limb.  It absoluting scared all the kiddos and amused all the adults.  I'll see if I can find a photo to post of the damage to Uncle Adam's eye.

Soaring Wings 1/2 Marathon 2011

Jason ran his third Soaring Wings Ranch 1/2 marathon today.  The race route goes past the entrance to our neighborhood, so JH and I went to cheer him on as he ran past.  Then we headed back to the house to make beds and straighten up a little since Jason said not to rush because he wasn't going to "race" in this one.  He ran it in 1:40 which was pretty fast to me, and as you might guess, JH and I missed him crossing the finish line.  In our defense, Jason said he felt good so he went a little faster than he had planned.  I really like this race not only for its close proximity to our home, but for all the fun kiddo things to do at the finish line.  They had face painting, jump houses for all sizes, popcorn, candy apples, and a cotton candy station.  As you can see from the photos, there shouldn't be any doubt as to which station JH liked the best!
I love this photo.  It looks like an Olympic Torch lifted in the air in victory...only its blue cotton candy!

Jacks, Jason, and John Hall

We got out our pumpkins and carved up two of them.  We also had a pirate "Mr. Potato Head" to add to the mix this year.  John Hall scooped out about 1/2 a spoonful of pumpkin, and then decided he didn't like the smell or the slime so it was a job best suited for Mommy and Daddy.  He loved the lighting process, and pretended it was his birthday by blowing out the candles as soon as Jason could get them lit.  He should be around 45 according the the times we sang Happy Birthday!  (not really, but it sure seemed like it!)

Pumpkin Pals

Today I took John Hall and Bubba Cade to the pumpkin patch for some morning fun.  We played all over the farm, rode on a hayride and picked out the perfect pumpkins.  JH and Cade had a great time!

Southwest Classic 2011

We spent the weekend in Dallas for our third annual trip to the Southwest Classic.  It was a pretty brutal game until the fourth quarter when the razorbacks finally showed up to play!  We want to thank Adam, Kim, Adalie, James, and Aubrey Kate for keeping John Hall over the weekend!  We appreciate it more than you'll ever know!  Thanks!!!!

So Pinteresting

So, I have been officially sidetracked from blogging.  I have never been very interested in Facebook, but I have certainly gotten into Pinterest.  I find when I have a few minutes to sit down at a computer or ipad, I will go directly to that site.  I find myself constantly thinking, "oh I can totally do that" and immediately pin it on one of my 30-something boards.  The good thing is that I have actually applied quite a few things to my everyday living, so it can't be that bad!  (however, DDD has suffered from this much to the chagrin of some relatives that would prefer pictures and updates about JH)  Here are a few things that I have found and replicated....
