A little Sugar
A new trick that John does is "giving sugar." This is one of favorite things, altough you're sure to get lots of slobber on your face when he lays one on you! He was full of kisses last night before bedtime....I love my little sugar man!!!

Deck - Orations
We went to a surprise 40th birthday party on Saturday night and I was inspired...not by the actual party, but by the way she had her backyard arranged. It just flowed and had multiple conversation places...so, instead of packing for JH and me to go out of town this week, I went outside and rearranged deck furniture instead. What a great use of my time, but I feel so much better about how the back looks now. I may get there and not have any pajamas, diapers for John, or a toothbrush, but my back deck looks better by Golly....and that makes me happy!!!
(BTW, I should mention that we have never had an actual fire in the fire pit pictured on the deck. It's usually used for a drink cooler for entertaining friends)

Lovin' the Lake
We took an impromptu trip to the lake today with our pals, the Martins. They picked us up at the Marina where John was put in JT's old life jacket. He has never been on a boat, but you certainly couldn't tell it by the way he was acting. He took to nautical adventure like a fish to water. I don't think there was a square inch of their boat that was investigated by my little guy; some in my family might say that is a quality he got from his Aunt Jennifer! We cruised over to a lake restaurant for brunch which was so yummy!
After brunch, we rode all around the lake so the boys could enjoy a siesta before playing on one of the sand beaches. Aren't they the sweetest sleeping buddies!!!
When the boys woke up, we pulled up on the sand beach to play. It was the perfect spot for fun in the sun!

We enjoyed a wonderful relaxing day at the beach, and we're so thankful for our sweet friends! It's such a blessing to have pals with a son so close in age to JH; I know they'll be lifelong buddies!....and a blessing that they have a boat they're willing to share!!! Ha!

I snapped this picture of my boys while I was getting stuff ready to go to the lake. Jason refuses to let John watch television, but he sometimes will let him watch this show...the WonderPets. I am really not sure what it's about, but they both seemed entertained! I sure love these guys!

If You'd Like to Make a Call...
If you've ever talked to me on the phone, there is no doubt you would have heard my little sidekick in the background! He's usually begging for me to hand over the phone so he can listen, chat, or hang up on whomever is on the other end of the line. He likes to walk around holding a phone or remote control up to his ear and will chat away! It is seriously one of the cutest things I've ever seen; it's so funny. Here is a little video of this (PLEASE excuse my ANNOYING comments and voice; do I seriously sound like that???!!! Surely not!!! Ha!). If you're too busy to watch the entire video, here's the Cliff Notes: He talks, dances, says "car," hangs up on Uncle Adam, and toots in various parts. Enjoy!!!

Toad Suck 2010
After the horrible weather forecast that was predicted all weekend, the festival still went on for the most part. Jason and I took John Hall to "Toad Suck Daze" on Friday afternoon since the weather was cooperating. We had a wonderful time snacking on food, playing in the kid's area, looking at the "stuck on a truck" participants, and listening to music.
He enjoyed playing in the sand...I guess we could use a sandbox in our backyard!
They have so much to eat at Toad Suck...I had a corn dog, fresh lemonade, roasted corn, and candy apple! We also decided to try "chicken fried bacon!" I can't believe what you could find fried, but that beat all I've ever seen! It was good, but we felt a little guilty eating it...Makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it!!!
There was a fun little jazz band playing and JH seemed interested in the dancers. We watched them for a while and ran into our OB nurse, Celeste and her daughter, Liz. John Hall was fascinated by Liz! Already into the ladies!!!

Stuck on a Truck tent...
Bright and early on Saturday, I had to volunteer at the Toad Suck 5K race. I had to be there at 6:00 to help pass out runner's packets. I wasn't so thrilled about it, but proceeds from the race go for a good cause, so it was worth it...
