Special Sunday guests!

Today John Hall had two very special vistors, Adalie and James. He was very excited to meet his cousins! He and James will be good buddies someday and will find all sorts of trouble to get into! Oh yeah...Ose, Pa, Aunt Kim, & Uncle Adam also came to see John Hall. Kim and Adam weren't able to hold him at the hospital, so today was the first time they got to love on him. Adam was insistant on getting into photo sessions and making silly faces, so what happens when you do that???....At least one of those pictures gets posted to the blog! I hope everyone enjoys Adam's flared nostrils and what looks like a neon earring! We enjoyed our afternoon company; my little guy is tuckered out from all the excitement!

We took John Hall on his first walk to show him his neighborhood. I think he enjoyed tasting the fresh air! Ha! I love all the firsts! This one will definitely be a repeat activity!

One Week Check-up

Today John Hall had his one week check up at his pediatrician's office. He is doing very well and has even gained weight this week. He now weighs 8 pounds, 5 1/2 ounces! He takes his feedings very seriously so I'm not really all that surprised by the weight gain. I took a quick little video of his first appointment; this was the same doctor that took care of him when he was born. The outing tuckered him out, so I had to get a few picutres of how soundly he was sleeping when he got home. JH is getting accustomed to his little routine and we've really enjoyed every second of parenthood so far. We sure love this little guy!

John Hall is One Week!

It's hard to believe a whole week has passed since our baby was born. I don't think we could love anyone more than we love John Hall. We're so happy to have him and have loved every second he's been here. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the last couple of days.

Welcome Wagon!

We've NEVER had so many visitors than we have had this week and they're still coming. We love having company, but something tells me they're not here to see us...Mom says the "Conway Magnet" tugs at her heart and she just can't stay away....

Amy came to see John Hall. I had to get a picture of her since we didn't get a picture of her with him at the hospital...but there was so much going on when he was delivered, no one was really concerned with pictures. Jason, me, and JH are very grateful to Amy and we think she's the best doctor in the world! Sam and Jamie came this morning. Samuel isn't very interested in JH and asked Jamie in an exasperated tone, "Mommy, when will JH be bigger so we can play." He's a funny little kiddo!

Leslie came to see JH and also brought lunch...thanks, Leslie. Ose and Pa decided they couldn't stay away so they had to come for a visit.

Shawn came to see JH after work. They have been making sweet tea (which is the best you've ever tasted) for me b/c they know how much I love it. They're so thoughtful! Lindsay also came by to meet him. She thinks he's pretty sweet and says she wants to babysit when we're ready for a date night.

Luke and Maddie stopped came over and loved on JH. When Luke was holding JH he said very softly to him...."it's ok John Hall, Luke has you now"...it just melted my heart. We've also had other visitors such as Kelly and Misty, but I forgot to get pictures. Lack of sleep will do that to you.
Thanks for everyone for coming to see us and bringing goodies. We sure appreciate it!!!

Light Weight Champ!

Jason was playing with John Hall and I had to get this on film...he likes to keep his gloved hands up around his face just like a boxer so Jason did his best "Michael Buffer" impression and introduced JH. Jason wanted me to mention that I embarrassed JH when I suggested he give him his paci back when he was trying to be tough!

JH this morning

Here is a little video of JH from this morning. He was being a sweet expressive little boy. I love it when he yawns! He's just too sweet!

My boys!

Check out my dimples!

This picture is priceless to me! It was the first time Jason held John Hall. I saw a whole new side of Jason I didn't know existed. He is already the best daddy! He loves him so much!

Holding to his daddy's hand.
He loves to listen to Jason talk to him! He becomes so alert when he hears his voice. He changes so much every hour it seems. I took this picture this afternoon and he already looks so old to me. That brand new appearance is wearing off too quickly!

Hospitable Hospital

We arrived at the hospital ready to have John Hall at 6 A.M. sharp. By eight o'clock, my water had been broken and I was on my way to meeting my sweet baby boy. At some point after that happened, I got an infection which went to him and caused our fevers to spike. I had envisioned in my mind how things were going to happen, and that was not part of the game plan. We had waited so long for this day and were told that he would need to be taken away but that we would be able to see him briefly before he would be carted off to the nursery. That was very hard news to hear, but I knew it was for the best. He was delivered at 6:10 and I got to see him later that evening at 10:30; time has never been slower than the wait to meet him. We were told he could potentially have to stay in the hospital for 14 days, but luckily that's not how it turned out and we all got to go home yesterday. We were taken such great care of while we were there. I still cannot believe how wonderful each and every person at that hospital was! Of course I knew I had a great doctor (who was an angel to me during all of this...she was about as emotional as I was! She's really a wonderful friend and now, I will always have the most precious moments of my life that she was a part of...I just simply am grateful to her!) but never imagined how zealous these people are about their jobs. You can FEEL they all belong in their respective professions and truly care about their patients....the doctors aren't the only angels, they all are simply angels!

We had lots and lots of support from family and friends. John Hall is a very lucky little boy to have such proud grandparents, aunts, uncles, and family friends. We got all sorts of goodies and flowers it required Jason to make a special trip home just to unload our gifts. We were overwhelmed by everyone's kindness!

John Hall in his take home outfit. He didn't seem to care for it very much, so he actually wore his hospital photo outfit home. It was rainy and seemed a little more comfy for the 2 mile drive! I still wanted pictures of him with his sweet little outfit so we staged a little photo shoot before we checked out. This was the view from my room which was a beautiful old house. I couldn't have asked for better accommodations while we were there!

Ose and Pa showed up to help us home from the hospital. It was nice to have someone there to take pictures and carry some of the load in their car. She also helped unpack everything which was one less thing I had to do....so thanks mom and dad!
