What to do???

I'm always at a loss in regards to how I display all the Christmas Cards we receive from year to year. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE receiving cards and enjoying looking at all the people who make my life so special throughout the month. The only thing I've come up with in years past is to simply tape them to the fridge, but by mid-month, it looks pretty congested and not very pretty (BUT I still love looking at them!) In this months holiday edition of Women's Inc (the same magazine we were in last year) was an article on a family who puts up a tree in every room their house. They were all beautiful but the one I loved the most was the entry tree. It was covered with their Christmas cards and I thought this was a fun, functional, and lovely way to display something that is one of the best parts of the season!!!
I am ready for my cards with a bag of raffia and a hole punch in our kitchen where we read mail.
We got our first Christmas card of the season...aren't they the sweetest little girls!!!
I put the "Christmas Card Tree" in the hearth room where we spend majority of our time.....I'm so excited about our new tree!!!

Who needs Santa Anyhow?

Here is a photo of John Hall visiting Santa for the first time. He seemed to love his beard and really appeared to try and let him know what was on his Christmas list! It was precious!
As it turns out, St. Nick will find it won't be necessary to deliver anything thanks to his Aunt Jennifer, Aunt Jamie, and Ose. Christmas came over Thanksgiving and John Hall couldn't be more grateful! Jennifer loaded up our SUV with all sorts of goodies left from Julia and Jacob. Ose brought some books and hit a sale on Friday for a couple of toys. Aunt Jamie brought PJ set and books as well. Thanks, guys! It was very sweet of you all!

Thanksgiving Weekend

For the first time, we hosted Thanksgiving at our house. We didn't do the traditional meal of turkey; we had steak and all the fixings. It was so good and took the pressure off of making a turkey which no one in my family really likes anyway...On Wednesday night, everyone came over to eat pizza at a place where they let the kids make their own.

Sam and John Hall took a little bath together....all clean for turkey (I mean steak! Ha!)

On Thursday, we seriously sat around with no particular schedule and played with the boys, played cards, cooked, drank lots of coffee (thanks to my early Christmas gift from Jason, a Keurig coffee pot!), and visited. It was really nice and was an enjoyable time. We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!

So Thankful....

For Our Little Turkey!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Out of this world!

I remember this show coming on television when I was a kid...I actually don't remember much about it with the exception of the lady having a human child and an alien child...burned into my mind forever! It was a freaky show and now they've made a television show of it. I've caught a couple of the episodes and it's fairly entertaining. I am not much of a loyal show watcher and don't predict that I will be to this one; just thought I would post that scene if anyone remembers the original "V" miniseries!

In the spirit of aliens, John Hall sported an "out of this world" little outfit and has enjoyed a passed down toy from cousin Sam! So stinkin' cute!

Check out the special effects....they've come a LONG way since the mid-eighties!!! It's so funny now...I remember this being so scary!

Workin' on the Wreaths!

Lately, my days have been jammed packed getting geared up for all the events and functions planned in the next week. On Thursday, I spent the day preparing wreaths for Deck the Doors fundraiser to be sold at Dazzle Daze this weekend. In years past, I have been able to concentrate on the task at hand, but this year is a little different. This year I have a little guy who is very clear he is not that thrilled about my decorating which takes away from his attention time! I was under a little pressure to get them finished because they were due on Friday and it was down to the wire....we were also leaving at 5 to attend an exhibit at the Arts Center! I also had some other guests (Cade, Tebow, Tonya, and Bella) in the house to make things a little more interesting! It was crazy-crazy! The wreaths may not be as pretty this year, but I sure love the reason for my distraction!

Here's the new puppy, Tebow. He thinks he's a pretty tough puppy and doesn't seem to understand why he's not the one on top of the totem pole (see video below)! He is the cutest little thing I've ever seen!

Ah, the wreaths were finally finished and we were able to enjoy a night of some much needed adult time!

I found a few pictures of some of my better wreath efforts from years past...

And since my little baby looked like a total hobo in the pictures above, I thought I would post these that show him in a much cleaner state!
